24/7/365 Doctors offices

Monday, November 17, 2003 17:40 EST
Do you ever get sick, call your doctor, and find out you can't get an appointment for a week and a half? Do you ever get sick late on a Friday and have to decide between the dreaded $800 emergency room visit or waiting until Monday to make an appointment with your regular doctor?

Crimestats.com

Several years ago, I had an idea for a service that would sell historical crime reports for a given apartment-complex or street. Update: my friend Adam points out that the Austin Police Department is already doing this.

National Silence Day

Thursday, May 23, 2002 21:30 EDT
National Silence Day: a day when people would do everything in their power to be silent. No talking, except when absolutely necessary; and then, in as quiet a voice as possible. No honking. No music or television. No garbage trucks. No construction equipment. No little Japanese cars with blatty oversized mufflers.
